Schoolwork and academic learning have always been seen as a shared responsibility between teacher and student. Understandably, however, the recent pandemic has made teachers' virtual engagement less engaging and more distant.
The spotlight is now on students to take responsibility for their learning. That said, a parent's cooperation will go a long way in easing the burden off the student's shoulders during this difficult time. Some of the ways parents can help students include being actively involved in the student's work, facilitating and systematizing effective work habits, and recognizing and rewarding the student's efforts.
