4 Habits of Highly Successful Students

The main cause of wasted study time is not knowing exactly what to study and when to take that course. To study efficiently and effectively, you need to ask yourself, 'What is my goal today? What do I want to achieve by the end of today?” Anyone can set up and follow a schedule, but those who fail have no idea where to start studying. These students waste time jumping back and forth between materials

or get distracted by something else halfway through.

You can avoid these pitfalls by measuring yaw time first - how much time do you have available to devote entirely to studying schoolwork? List your other duties such as full-time or part-time jobs, classes, extracurricular activities, vacation, etc. Writing down your involvement will help you see how much time you can actually devote to your studies without interruption. Once you have a calendar, create a study schedule by starting with the end in mind. This means you want to imagine and write down exactly what you want to get done before you start. Be specific.

Would you like to read 15 pages of your calculus textbook and take notes and complete questions 1-12? Or find 5 sources for your English essay and fill in 7 pages of notes on the topic? Start organizing your time by filling in any days you don't study due to vacation, meetings, jobs, or past commitments. Then fill in the rest of the calendar based on the topics you want to cover up to the test day. Be as specific as possible when filling out your schedule so that you know exactly what to study on which day.
